Citizens should be careful to preserve personal documents, as issuing proof of the missing document is not done there due to legal procedure.

Kosovo Police spokesman Baki Kelani has said it was done after there were many cases when citizens were confiscated documents from police or any other organ, while they were presented as missing in order to extract new documents.

Every citizen who loses a document and presents that case to the police, issuing proof of the missing document from the police is not done there. Confirmations on the loss of documentation are issued only after necessary police verifications are made and the avoidance of possible allegations. This procedure lasts several days, but is carried out quickly within the previous deadline, and the citizen is reportedly due to the time when he may come to receive the confirmation”, he said.
