Chinese and American armies have once again raised tensions between them. The U.S. fleet announced that a Chinese battleship has carried out a series of aggressive and dangerous maneuvers, approaching an American military ship significantly.
Charles Brown, spokesman for the American Navy in the Pacific, told CNN news agency that the two vessels were approached at a distance of about 40m from each side while sailing on several islands discussed in the South China Sea.
On the other hand, official China emerged on Tuesday, October 2, in a reaction expressing dissatisfaction with the American ship's intervention in its sovereign waters.
In a press release, Chinese Ministry for Foreign Affairs spokesman Hua Chun-jing said US provocations go against the will of both countries by violating the basic norms of international law.
Recent incidents between the United States and China have forced the American Secretary of Defence to cancel the visit he had planned to hold with Chinese officials on security issues.
Tensions have increased on many fronts since US President Donald Trump's administration decided to tax goods imported from China.
At a previous conference, the White House head has declared that his friendship with Chinese leader Ksi Zing may be considered broken following allegations that China may have tried to manipulate the results of the upcoming elections in America.
