Chief Prosecutor Alexander Lumez called on crime victims to inform in time of any crime and violence, as well as to seek protective measures so that justice organs can be taken with these cases as soon as possible. At the opening of the campaign “Jeva for the Rights of Crime Victims”, which is held under the supervision of the chief prosecutor's office, Lumez said that the capacity of this institution has increased and assured that it will take all actions for crime victims to take seriously.
The procedure has to increase efficiency for domestic violence cases so it doesn't matter. Officials who serve in the Office for the Protection of Victims must have a greater role in protecting crime victims. Encourage crime victims to report any violence and danger, which is both obligation and to seek protection measures” said Lumezi.
During this year in Kosovo there are 20 cases of murder, until 2017 has closed with 27 cases of murder. Murders have occurred for various reasons involving cases of domestic violence.
According to official data, last year alone, 962 cases of domestic violence were recorded, with women mainly being victims.
