Facebook has named former British delegation Sir Nick Klegg at the top of global issues and communication.
The 51-year-old took this post at the time when Facebook is facing increased political pressure as regards the problems related to false news, with data protection and a threat to government regulation.
The former leader of the Liberal Democratic Party will be displaced in the Silicon Valley in January, FT has reported.
He will succeed Elliot Schrade, who announced in June that he would leave Facebook after a decade.
