White House National Security Adviser Michael Bolton pledged that the administration of US President Donald Trump, “will squeeze Iran” with great economic pressure because, as he said, his malicious “behavior” in the Middle East and around the world.
Bolton made these comments in an exclusive interview for Radio Free Europe, after meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikola Pashinian in Yerevan.
“Sic told the prime minister as well, we want to put maximum pressure on Iran because it has not given up its intention to create nuclear weapons”, Bolton told Radio Free Europe's Armenian service.
<x0thIran remains the world's main banker of international terrorism. And, we're concerned about his ballistic missile program and his military operations in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere”, Bolton said.
We're going to squeeze Iran because we think its behavior in the Middle East is actually malicious and should change”, the senior American official said.
In May, Trump has withdrawn the US from the nuclear agreement with Iran and has reversed economic sanctions against him.
Iran has repeatedly said its nuclear programme has only peaceful purposes.
