During this meeting, Task Force inter-ministerial representatives have approved a proposal banning the use of coal for heating in public institutions, which will proceed for approval in Government.
Matoshi has said the decision to ban the use of coal for heating in public institutions' facilities is aimed at reducing air pollution.
At the media conference held after this meeting, Minister Matoshi has presented steps the MMPH is taking to improve air quality in the country, the actions of the task force and member ministries of this task force.
“The MMPH, in order to reduce air pollution, has sent to the government and the assembly the draft law on air protection from pollution, as well as the Kosovo government has approved the action plan for improving air quality in the country”, Matosi said.
Matoshi has also presented the projects MMPH is implementing together with Japanese JICA and MMC in the air field, including JICA research about pollutors in the country whose results will emerge in early November, rehabilitation of air quality stations by JICA and MCC.
d Minister Matoshi indicated that the MMPH with the support of the European Commission has installed the central software for collecting air quality data from monitoring stations and presenting them in real time.
Among other things, Matoshi told of the actions that the relevant Ministers of the Task Force took to protect the air from pollution, thus citing the ban on the use of coal for heating in educational institutions by STAT, the MZHE's commitment to the extent of the co-generation network and the changing of TC filters Kosova B.
Mattos also indicated that the Ministry of Infrastructure will continue its commitment to implementing road gas control, in the case of technical vehicle control, as well as the beginning of the establishment of environmental stamps from January 2019, while Kosovo police will assist the Commission's inspectors for Mine and Minerals for preventing the explosion and selling of coal, as provided with the mine law.
According to Matosh, the Health Ministry will also work on informing citizens of the consequences of using coal for heating and the importance of protecting air from pollution.
