Agim Bahtiri: Mitrovica to join a grand concert

On this occasion, those present have talked about the overall security situation that is ruling in the town of Mitrovica, with particular emphasis on opening the bridge over the Iber River.
Initially Bahtiri has thanked KFOR commander for his and his soldiers' contribution to Mitrovica, where he said that thanks to the commitment of municipal leaders and the unprecedented support of KFOR and other local and international institutions, the <x0 security sector in the municipality of Mitrovica is much better and has gone towards a full stabilisation of”.
He also spoke of the importance of opening the Iber River bridge, where he pointed out that it must be done in a grand way, not with tension.
“We have worked long together with the mayors in the north of the city, so that the security situation, movement and free flow of people and goods can be improved. Thanks to this job, but also the communication, co-operation and support we have from KFOR peacekeepers' commander for northern Kosovo, today in all of Mitrovica we have a much more relaxed situation, which is going with secure steps towards full stabilisation”, Bahtiri said, giving full assurance to KFOR commander that there will be no destabilising of the situation because the only way is peace, “so this will be my model<3>.
He added that “we have worked long in this direction as well since 2014, where we have different peripheries, constantly negotiating with the state of Serbia regarding the opening of the” bridge.
“We are now in the process of planning a major concert, where one of the world's most renometic singers is expected to take part, and through this rally to join the town of Mitrovica”, Bahtiri has said.
KFOR Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ervin Hartmann said it feels good to hear about progress in improving the security situation in the municipality. He added that, given the fact that the full stabilisation of the security situation in the town of Mitrovica and the creation of conditions for free movement and circulation, it is necessary to improve interethnic reports, “we will continue to support you and work together again in order to have a real economic development and to significantly improve the quality of people's lives in this town”.
