Academy of Sciences calls NGO research suspicious of plagiarism

Following several charges directed at the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts (ASHAK) by two non-governmental organisations for plagiarisation and mismanagement, on the Parliamentary Commission for Education and Science, the Academy members who have denied the accusations have reported, and according to them, the funding of these NGOs is not known. This AAK meeting with the Parliamentary Commission for Education and Science has come even after criticism by several nongovernmental organisations concerning the work of this academy and the quality of the Encyclopedia Dictionary published weeks ago.
The Academy's scientific secretary, Myzafere Limani, said that shortly after publishing the research of nongovernmental organisations have tried to understand who is behind them.
According to her, their research is extremely shallow and their financing unclear.
We've already had that report you're talking about. To be honest with all that has intrigued me, it was who is behind those two nongovernmental organizations. Given that their funding for us is completely unclear, even their research is extremely shallow. The academy is bound to respect the assessments coming from institutions as sisters, the Academy always takes them seriously. The academy costs importance to foreign-language publishing, namely works that reflect Kosovo's properties and Kosovo achievements”, Limani has said, the KP reports.
While, Arsim Bajrami from this academy answered the commission chairman's question concerning political influence. He said the policyisation issue is regulated by law and there is no politicisation at the academy.
The academy, according to him, can only provide answers in the event of any institutional requirement regarding political issues in the country, as they have done when the Constitution is drafted.
I agree with you that we have to work hard to have development projects and we will start competing in European funds that are intended for science, with projects from the field of economic development, from the fields of innovation, information technologies, medicine and agriculture. In this direction, we will enter partnership with European Academys”, Bajrami has said.
He has said the academy is financed by Kosovo's budget, implements all government decisions, and we respect all legal deadlines required to implement the recommendations of the Auditor's Office even though we have no serious recommendations.
Members of the Commission for Education, Science, Technology, Youth, Sports and Inovation expressed interest in the Academy's projects, activities, as well as on charges of plagiarisation by Academy members Ismajl Kurteshi, chairman of the Parliamentary Commission, had a series of questions for ASAK members, who has asked how much the Academy costs the publication of its foreign language publications.
“A has an international project in which it is currently in, if it has who it is. And is it important by day how much of the Academy's budget is spent on project realisation? Another question that has been asked inevitably for all institutions is whether politics have an impact on the work of the Academy and how much effect is it?... There have been public charges of some Academy members that their actions are plagiarism. Did you handle these cases?
While, member Driton Caushi expressed concern for the competitions at the academy. He said that out of 22 Academy members, only 3 have publication in magazines.
Otherwise, days ago on the same parliamentary commission, representatives of the NGO <x0-integre” who have presented a crisis in ASHAK have reported.
