Over 70 deaths in accidents this year alone

More than 70 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents this year, until thousands more have suffered injuries. An estimated increase in communications fines has not affected reduced number of accidents

Only during this year's January period of October in Kosovo have over 10,000 accidents, in which over 70 people have lost their lives. The increase in fines is considered an unsuccessful measure in preventing accidents. Kosovo Police officials say they have worked for providing greater security in road traffic, the Voice newspaper writes.

The aim of these police commitments has been to reduce traffic accidents, in particular the avoidance of fatal human accidents. During the season reportings on cases of human life loss have been disturbing, and the efforts of the Kosovo Police have been focused not only on punitively on anti-victors violating regulations, but also on the need for commitment and co-ordination of the activities of all other institutional mechanisms that have the role and impact on awareness of trafficking participants, in particular automotive leaders”, are said to respond to the Kosovo Police Information Office.
