Fire in the 336 passenger ferry

A rescue operation was conducted a little earlier, following fire-fall reports on the ferry”Regina”. The commander of the Lithuanian Navy's Sea Rescue Centre, Eugenius Valikovas, quoted by news agency” BNS” said all passengers are safe and sound and all are on board.

The”Regina” was on its way from the German port of Kiel to that Lithuanian of Klaipeda, with a distance of about 110 km from destination at the moment of the incident.
Lithuania has taken an AS-365 military helicopter to the scene immediately. Four naval ships headed toward the ship to rescue the needy passengers.
The fire was reported to have begun at the time when”Regina” was located in the waters of Russia's Economic Exclust Zone, or off the coast of the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, and it was exactly the last one that co-ordinated operations, in constant contact with Lithuanian Navy.
