An analysis of the student's under-titled lecture at Pristina University, presented today by the Educational Growth Organisation at Education (ORCA), shows that 177 people legalize subjects even though they are not professors and, together with professors, represent 26 percent of legalists in this high - term institution.
Gramoz Buinca, representative of the ORCA, said at a media conference before the Rectorate, that according to the UP's statute the task of legalisation at the Universities is not meant for assistants and other persons engaged in any function.
“544 materials are supported by 177 persons who are not professors. Along with their professors, these represent 26 percent of UP legalists. None of these 177 people have submitted to the rigorous statuteic criteria for the professor, by which they can testify to their preparation for legalisation. 76 of them have only master's scientific degree”, he said.
Bukinca said most of them are assistants who also legalise, while added that the UPI has engaged 18 master's scientific-graders in keeping 34 lectures at master's level.
“103 assistants legalize 308 subjects knowing that the assistant's task is to exercise and assist in other academic work... The quality of studies is even worse when we add the large number of foreign collaborators who without subjecting themselves to examination of strict statuteic criteria for employment engage in teaching, take exams and consultations on the same burden as a professor. All of this is billed to Kosovo students and taxpayers”, Buckinca said.
According to him, holding speeches with persons with such preparation except that it is contrary to the statue seriously endangers the quality of teaching at the university.
All in the end, Butchinca on behalf of the ORCA demanded that efforts with human resources be banned in the UP, and engage persons with proper academic competence and credibility.
