The Commission to verify sexual violence and nongovernmental organisations is guaranteeing a transparent process and without manipulation of sexual violence during the war.
This commission, it has found 103 women have falsely applied for this status. 143 women, status has already been accepted. 500 other cases are under consideration. Although it is believed that over 20 women and girls have been violated during the war, so far more than 700 victims have not applied for this legally guaranteed status.
103 applications for the status of victims of sexual violence are rejected. The Commission to verify victims of sexual violence has rejected the status of 103 women violated during the war, arguing that they have not completed the documents.
143 women have already been granted sexual violence victim status, until over 500 other cases are under consideration.
The chairman of the Commission for Verification of Victims of Sexual Violence, Minire Begaj, has told Inseder that rejected applicants have the right to complaint.
Begaj, has said the likelihood of manipulation in this process is small.
“The application and legislation approach is strengthening the Commission's work and making it less likely to manipulate. The odds are small for misusing or something, but we as a commission examine all accepted applications”, she stated.
We have rejected this number but the side has the right to reconsider the application back to the Commission.
Begaj made it known that if documents do not witness sexual rape enough, the applicant is also called in an oral interview.
“The entire commission is done with field connoisseurs, experts and we are doing the best possible job. When we decide to refuse or accept it, we do it based on supporting documents, confessions of the victim, or any witnesses. If the document has not reasoned enough, then we invite it to an oral interview. And the oral interview is giving us some kind of security”, Minire Begaj showed.
Meanwhile, the process of verifying victims of sexual violence, a judicial process is expected to begin for manipulation with the status of KLA veterans. So far, over 20,000 veterans are alleged to be lying. For this, the prosecution has filed charges against members of the Government Commission, at the helm with Agim Ceku.
In this process, the commission is co-operating with four organisations: Medica Kosova, Medica Gjakova, Centre for Promoting Women's Rights and the Kosovar Centre for the Rehabilitation of Torture Survivors.
The director of the Kosovar Centre for the rehabilitation of Torture Survivors, Feride Rushiti, has told of Insideder in detail the way of application.
Rushiti has said that the way sex crimes are confessed leaves very little opportunity for manipulation.
“Evidence of the story, requires the place where it happened, the institutions where it called for help are required if they have reported cases in The Hague, EULEX or something. It's not like with the other categories, Blanco's got a confession, it's not. The process is balanced and the possibility to deviate is minimal.
The process of verifying victims of sexual violence is expected to last five years. During this time, all applications are envisioned.
Representatives of nongovernmental organisations have criticised the deadline, stressing that war crimes are not envisioned.
The legal disaster is 5 years. This term for us s'ena has pleased, since war crimes are not foretold, and the right is not to be extended. But if there's more cases you should think of with the avok even a time that m m m mt”, that's what Rushiti said about Inseder.
Commission chairwoman and civil society organisations have called on all victims not to hesitate to apply.
They have guaranteed that the whole process will be in full privacy.
