Vuciq: Serbia cannot enter EU without resolving border issue with Kosovo

The clear goal of Pristina authorities is to enter the north, because that is how all the reasons for talks with Belgrade” are removed, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq said last night, and has ordered that Serbia, as a state, will find a way to deal with the demands coming from the north of Kosovo, deal with crime and corruption.

“I see it's on the trend to talk about crime and corruption in northern Kosovo, where, of course, it's not a good situation, because Serbia has effective power there”, he has said in an interview for Serbian television “Happy”, broadcast Time.net.

Ironically, he said that “justice and democracy, on the other hand, flourish in Pristina, Peja and other towns”.

Speaking of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, Vuciqi has estimated that this is a direct blow to Serbia, establishing permanent uncertainty among Serbs in Kosovo and creating divisions in Serbia.

Asked about Milan Radojciki's role in northern Kosovo, Vuciq has said that the person will be arrested if he is a murderer, but evidence must come up, because it cannot be concluded “just in the newspaper's writings”.

For the Serbian president, it is not important who killed Ivanov and whose nationality is because, according to him, “anyone who did this is a bad man and will respond to”.

For his stay in Kosovo during Saturday, Vuciq said he heard of the Serbs' troubles. He stresses that “across Serbia has had the opportunity to see how hard Serbs live in Kosovo, under what pressures and under what circumstances”.

“We must be responsible, serious, calm and tolerant, work more”, he said, while adding that in this respect we should take the example of Albanians “we should look at Albanians”.
