Two decades since the end of the wars in the former Yugoslavia, Serbia has unresolved border disputes with almost all the neighbouring countries it once was in a joint state.
However, at this moment, perhaps the most important question is -- will the administrative line with Kosovo remain?
The EU's soon-to-be-admitting “Strategy says a binding legal agreement is expected from Serbia, which is in resolving final status, and it is clear that this will probably require a specific overhaul of the border, so we have a kind of ground preparation,” says Marko Savkovic from the Belgrade Fund for Political Building.
“There is no good solution, a good solution for Kosovo has long been impoverished and leaves us only to choose a less bad one, but the least bad solution is normalising unrecognized relations, because no one is asking us for this,” said Susan Grubjesik of the European movement, reports “b9292x3>, Periscopi transmission.
President Vuciq has announced that the case will address the court for a referendum. First, let's see what the question will be, how long will the debate last... I am for the referendum, but must be the result of a broader debate,” said analyst Branko Radun.
The EU was burned in the case of the border dispute between Croatia and Slovenia, and therefore European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker was very clear in the European Parliament when it made clear that all Western Balkan countries wishing to join the European Union must first resolve all border disputes./Periscopi/
