Veton Surroi insists that Kosovo state participate in Ivanovic's funeral, gives 5 reasons for this

Publicist Veton Surroi insists that a Kosovo delegation should attend the funeral of Serbian SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic, who was killed on the morning of 16 January in northern Mitrovica while entering his party's offices. Responding to Facebook response to this proposal, submitted yesterday, [...]

Responding to his Facebook response to this proposal, submitted yesterday, Surroi calls these reactions “emotional inhales” and says he is misunderstood because his idea has remained unbroken.

To this Surroi proposal, he reacted today. The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms, counting the crimes Ivanovic committed during the Kosovo war against Albanian civilians, writes Periscopi.

He has given five reasons why the state of Kosovo would have to send a delegation during the Mortore ceremony in Belgrade.

Full Posting:

I saw debate on Facebook and other media today, social or not, regarding my statement that Kosovo institutions would be respected at the funeral of Oliver Ivanovic.

There was an emotional explosion, probably because the idea remained unbroken. This is what “talking points” would look like, as if they had participated.

Orders today sent to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, participating in Oliver Ivanovic's funeral.

  1. Oliver Ivanovi was former deputy of the Kosovo Assembly. The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo feels the obligation to attend the burial of its former deputees, whether they are buried inside the state or abroad.
  2. With our participation, we show that we are against political violence. The political attitude towards him is understood as attacking the right of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo for active political participation, namely, as an attack on basic values of the Republic of Kosovo.
  3. There has been and still is the charge against the late O. Ivanovic for war crimes in 1999 and the 2000 murders. Our arrival is not to absolute whose responsibility; Mr. Ivanovic was sentenced to the first degree and sent to a second-degree verdict. Legal truth will now be impossible to find. Despite the great animation that can be created in our society, our coming here shows devotion to rule of law: each one is innocent until proven otherwise. The truth will remain with human rights researchers and historians, but we will all face it.
  4. Mr Ivanovic has been of completely different beliefs than ours regarding the Republic of Kosovo and its future. His beliefs tried to advance in public and political debate. We are here to show that the Republic of Kosovo respects and respects the right of different thinking and political action due to these beliefs.
  5. Mr. Ivanovic's murder we have understood and understood as part of the permanent negative developments in a part of the Republic of Kosovo in which, unfortunately, from post-war here does not rule the law or rule enough to guarantee the safety of our citizens. The Republic of Serbia can help us by closing the chapter of parallel structures in the Republic of Kosovo. 6. Citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, all of them, need the conflict to end. Facing the past, securing the present, projecting the future.
