Some prominent members of the Association of Doctors, who publicly criticised the Turkish military offensive in the Kurdish enclave Africa in Syria, were arrested today.
The Anadolus Agency reports that the head of Turkey's medical society and seven other people were arrested for violating Turkish anti-terrorism laws and that the arrests were made against 11 members of the association.
Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan has accused association members of being “supporters of terrorists” and the government has hit anyone who criticises the offensive.
During the past week, 311 people have been arrested for allegedly suspicious “terrorist propaganda” through critical publications launched on social networks, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
