The ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has responded with two messages on Twitter to Russia's response to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements on the Albanian-language law in Macedonia, expressing regret at Moscow.
The latter voiced concern and accused Rama of continuing to promote the so-called “Platform of Tirana”, which according to Russia violates the foundations of Macedonia's state. But according to official Tirana, the Russian Foreign Ministry has misinterpreted Rama's comments.
“We assess the passage of the law as it meets one of the key commitments of the Ohrid Agreement”, broadcasts the TCH.
The Foreign Ministry in Tirana highlights that it stands outside Macedonia's internal affairs and that it is invested in ethnic harmony in the Balkans.
