The UP's Steering Council's decision to reduce the student stock exchange's value from 900 to 500 euros has led the Student Organisation “Reforma” to organise a symbolic activity to express their opposition to this decision.
They said they would not stop until the decision is restored for students to become as was 900 euros, they even said that if necessary, they would also protest.
Hey, you want a scholarship app? No, so much as the waiter's pay paid” was one of the banners that these students had placed before the entrance of the University of Pristina's “Hasan Pristina”.
Arben Elshani, deputy head of the Organisation “Reforma”, said that through this activity they would require that the stock market value be returned as it was.
Today, the Organization for Reforma will express not only the opposition of the decision and return to review but also the value of the stock exchange that was previously at 900 euros. If this decision does not return to the review and become the value of the stock exchange as it used to be at 900 euros, then we will not stop until the actual board is fired. We will also ask the minister of education and the government to request the dismissal of the board so that this requirement can be implemented to the end. We will not surrender in any case”, he said.
While, he said they also received a message from Pristina University Rector Marjan Dema.
We as an organization through this activity have wanted to express the current situation at Pristina University, so today we also received a message from Rector Dema that this activity is not good because it is being exploited in various forms. I mean, it's not his right to talk about scholarships, that's not his competence. Then we with the dema reactor will deal with quality and development issues at the University of Pristina, while we will deal with the current board”, Elshani said.
Days earlier, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had met several stock exchange students, where he had promised them that the stock exchanges would not be reduced. And the same attitude has been given by Science and Technology Minister Shyqi Bytyqi.
