The name issue with Greece must be resolved”, Stoltenberg said at a joint press conference with Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in Skopje.
There is no other way for the country to enter NATO. This was discussed at the NATO summit in Bucharest in 2008, later repeated at the summit in Wales in 2014 and Warsaw in 2016, Stoltenberg suggested, adding that there is no other way for the country to enter the Atlantic Alliance.
On the other hand, Macedonia's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev praised NATO Secretary General's visit as “important for true encouragement and support for the country's expectations that 2018 will be a historic year for Macedonia, for the region. NATO and the EU”.
