United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has launched a <x0larm red” for the world, calling for unity so that they can all face the risk of inequality, nationalism, xenophobic and eventual nuclear played.
On New Year's Day 2018, there's no prayer. If there's a great, red alert for our world”, Guterres said during his New Year's message.
We can solve conflicts, overcome hatred and defend our common values. But all we can do is be together”, he said.
Guterres has said that when he took office over the past year, he “has demanded that 2017 be a year of peace”.
Unfortunately, according to him, the world has become the opposite corner.
“Conflicts have deepened and new risks have emerged. Global anxiety for nuclear weapons has been at the highest level since the Cold War”, he said, referring to tests of ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons from North Korea.
It has also cited rapid growth in climate change and economic inequalities.
