Sounds like a legend, but this river is real and deadly. Andres Ruzo of Peru had heard from his grandfather the incredible history of the ancient city, lost in the Amazon mountains and the mystic river, whose water boils because of high temperatures.

As an adult, Ruzo decided to explore the myth of early childhood. He assembled a team of scientists and studying maps found a large number of geothermal wells, writes Kuriosity.

Although the other members of his profession tried to ignore the expedition, calling it crazy, Rozo decided to solve the mystery and travel into the jungle.

When he finally found the mystical river, the first thing he discovered was that even though it was hot, the river was not burning. The measured temperature turned out to be about 93 degrees Celsius, with several changes in different times of the day.

This temperature is sufficient to cause the death of every creature that enters it and to become part of the fear of isolated people living with it.

Why is the river so hot? One theory suggests that its temperature may be from the volcano, the result of past unsavory magma flows respectively. The second hypothetosis says that the temperature is the result of a catastrophe a chain reaction underground, caused by any of the oil companies.

However, the latter is considered much less reliable, as river data exists for several hundred years.

The only other applicable option that doesn't involve volcanic characteristics is that water here comes from the depths of the earth, where the water temperature is extremely high, but scientists simply cannot be sure what is behind this impressive and extremely dangerous phenomenon.
