At the opening of this meeting, Minister Albena Resiti has said that the goal of this joint meeting is to identify the legal obligations belonging to two levels of governance, the challenges they face and the joint projects they have.
I have seen co-operation with the municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo as very important since receiving the mandate at the start of this ministry. Much of the responsibilities for the environment and implementation of the legal framework fall on the domain of municipalities. It's time for the environment to have our local and central policy priorities, so it asked you to make a commitment to improving the” situation, Minister Resitaj declared.
Minister Resitaj has suggested that Kosovo has consecutive sub-legal laws and acts of directives of the EU, but according to her, the overall experience proves that the implementation of these laws in our country is not at the right level.
Meanwhile, Communist Association Chairman Naim Ismajli has thanked Minister Resshiaj for the initiative and welcomed this meeting, saying municipalities welcome the support of Minister Resiti for joint environmental projects.
Other mayors at the meeting also cited the challenges facing municipalities and the need for investments in larger capital projects.
At the end of the meeting, several conclusions were drawn that include deepening the co-operation of MMPH-Communa, conveying and monitoring projects for their successful implementation, restoring citizens' trust in institutions.
And all agreed that the process of drafting local maps will be carried out on time, invested in new forest areas, and the ban on land-free construction will be made.
