Recica: 100m euros have been provided for war veterans

For Minister of Labour and Social Management, high unemployment rates, lack of security and the health of workers in the workplace remain a concern.

Minister Skender Recica said the main objective for 2018 is employment and a particular priority will also be dedicated to combating labour market informality and increasing job control by the Labour Inspectorate.

Recica in an interview for Kosovo Press says it comes from a political subject with social democratic orientation, from the Initiative for Kosovo, and has consistently pledged they have to postpone social policies, and now this programming political point is on government programme.

He added that the key priority will be employing a member of any family that has no employees, while the second ownership is self-employment and professional skills.

“According to statistics, it's 30.2 per cent of the population that's out of work. It's a very high percentage, where it leads to youth, female gender, and that's disturbing to us. Therefore, our focus for next year and for the following years will be increasing employment in the country, and we have pledged and are working daily. It's a good luck to know what we want to do. We have given ourselves a focus to increase employment, and to reduce families with their social assistance demands... (1788) We have placed ourselves in charge and pledged that within the mandate we should fully engage and believe to achieve this objective, because we are very serious that each family that has no employees, at least those families, have a family member employed”, Minister Recica said.

“We aim to increase control by implementing administrative ordinances, legal acts involving security and work health, strongly believe that we will not have cases like we have had in this period of time left behind. It is disturbing that a family in the morning starts sending a member to work, and he does not go back to his family. To me it is my main concern. And I pledge that all of my measures and all of my commitment has been that the Labour Inspectorate will have the role it should have, but above all, an exercise of control in the direction of work and implementation of the legal framework that concerns security and health at work. The ministry he runs with a budget of over 400m euros, Recica says it is good news for all social scheme categories, including war veterans, that they have secured enough budgets for realising their rights that are guaranteed by law.

According to him, only for veterans currently over 35 thousand have nearly 100m euros been provided.

Under social assistance are some 25 thousand families, numbering citizens, numbering about 104 thousand citizens. And the amount these categories benefit is between 75 and 150 euros. Minister Recica has said that in 100 days they have managed to work in terms of advancing compensation for victims and sexual violence, since this process has dragged on beautifully.

He has promised after the commission conducts the verification procedure on the basis of criteria, the first payments for the category will be started. He has also said that the Medical Commission to verify the degree of disability has been established and functional, and the minister believes that very soon cases after the application will be addressed.
