Catholic Church head Pope Francis said fear of migrants is understandable, but it is a sin if it incites rebellion and hostility toward them.
The pope invited immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, new immigrants and second-generation immigrants to a special mass held in St. Peter's Basilica.
He spoke of fears of some communities who claim that with the arrival of immigrants, the established order could be broken.
The pope said this is understandable by the population, but it goes into sin if “compromises respect, generosity and promotes hostility and rejection of different”.
