The Catalonia Parliament is expected today to elect the new leader of this Spanish province.
However, since candidate Carles Puigdemont is in exile in Brussels and the central government in Madrid tries to block his election, there are several scenarios that could happen, Reuters broadcast.
According to Reuters, Puigdemont could be elected president. He is in Brussels and an arrest warrant has been set up for him, so he will be arrested when he enters Spain. He and his followers suggested that the government's Puigdemont from Brussels join through a video link.
This was rejected by the Constitutional Court as an opportunity, stressing that Puigdemont should personally participate in a session in which to take the oath.
The next possible scenario is for parliament to choose Puigdemont, but that he cannot govern, while a very possible scenario would be for parliament to choose another candidate.
