Although according to the recent Kosovo population census, more than 95 per cent have been declared to belong to Islamic Islam, which strictly prohibits the use of alcohol, turns out that when it comes to alcohol, Kosovo citizens respect such religious norms.

But there is no shortage of smoking.

According to statistics from Kosovo Customs only in 2017 Kosovo has imported up to 3 thousand tonnes of tobacco.

Kosovo Customs spokesman Adriatic Stavileci has said of Kosovo that the import of rakia by 2017 has reached over eight million litres, while estimated to be about a million litres of wine and brandy, even from local productivity.

For such products of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which are considered luxury, Kosovo Customs has collected about 400m euros in revenues within the year from the excise tax, in which many were also part of an excise on vehicles.

Our statistics include about two million liters of heavy alcohol, until the falls are imported by seven to eight million gallons... It's kind of the same trend, because it's been a lot of years since it's the same amount of import of beer as hard alcohol and we don't have any movement in quantity on the last five years. The excise is a tax which within the year is a considerable amount and we can say that about 400m euros are collected within the year from the excise tax”, Stavileci said.

The coffee, which according to Stavileci, is now considered to be part of nutritious goods, did not enter the goods.

But from import statistics it is seen that the consumption of coffee from Kosovo citizens totals up to 8 million pounds per year

Stevilec said most of the coffee is immature, within a year the total import I coffee is seven million to 8 million pounds, while only ripe coffee, ready for sale, is 1.2 million pounds [1.2 million kg].

Even coffee is a product that has a fairly large import, most of the import of coffee is raw coffee, in one year total import I coffee reaches about seven to eight million pounds... In recent years we have had an average of two thousand and 700 to 3 thousand tons, and this year we are within this parameter, where 2,000 and 700 tons of tobacco have already been imported, he said.

That fun doesn't ruin itself even though they're Muslims, and it's a citizen who's been talking about Kosovas.

Hammez Rama, who is openly presented as consuming alcohol, said he is Muslim but drinks rakhi to a certain extent.

'Cause I'm a wine consumer... (I'm Muslim) I don't go in there because it's forbidden or forbidden, I drink it with certain amounts, absolutely”, Rama said.

Winemakers have also indicated that in Kosovo there are demand for raki consumption and wine.

Labinot Shulinina member of the Kosovo Summer Association and producer of raki and wine éfa Vine” in Rahovec has said Kosovo's productivity is estimated to be 100 thousand liters of raki, while over half a million liters of wine. He indicated he is interested in wine consumption, even though Kosovo is considered a poor country.

There is some interest, but these products also affect financial conditions, Kosovo is still a poor country and rakia is sold a little bit more, but now the trend has begun, wine consumption culture and Kosovo wines have begun to sell a little bit better, and the most expensive wines are sold on markets, where people's layer has more financial means to buy them”, Shulin said.

Some citizens who were not promoted to the camera have said that they consume alcoholic beverages at certain times, for parties or at a gathering or at the event, while there were those who said they were not alcoholic drinkers.
