Kosovo Security Force Minister (FSK), Rrustem Berisha, has stressed that increasing full operational capacities makes this institution ready to transform into the Kosovo Armed Forces (FAK).
He has said in an interview for Telegraph that the conversion process has had to begin since 2014 but that, according to him, this has not happened for reasons already known in broad opinion.
The key thing is that the KSF has completed its operational capacities and is now expected to have a change of mission. There are two ways of transforming the KSF. Through the path of constitutional changes and through the law content. Our dedication is to make the transformation happen through constitutional changes.
Our commitment is for the non-US community to be part of the transformation, even for the very reason for changing the constitution, where it is known that to come to constitutional changes, 2 to 3 of the deputies -- including 2 and 3 of the deputies of non-communal communities” -- have added Berisha.
According to him, much easier it is for the transformation to occur through constitutional changes, adding that all our efforts are working hard for the non-most community to be well integrated into this institution.
So far we have organised training, free Albanian and English language courses, given the importance of communication, which is part of the community integration strategy in KSF. We estimate that, in February, we will complete all the previous activities --”, Berisha stressed.
