Greek Prime Minister Cypras' meetings with political party leaders in Greece have not brought positive signals, said the analysis of Greek television “Antena” for the epilog of consultations on the name issue.
Opposition leader Kiriakos Mitsotakis has already been openly confronted with Prime Minister Cipras, while Syria's leader has problems securing support in the ruling coalition itself. But, the first failure to build political consensus, it seems, did not deter Cipras, who after the meetings declared:
“I expect that over the next few years I will work with patriotic responsibility towards the common solution... responsibility is for the Greek government, but I have the responsibility to close the confrontational points as many as possible and build a new dynamic, maintaining the leading role we have in the Balkans”, said Alexis Cipras, prime minister of Greece.
The first guest of the Greek prime minister was the leader of Greece's largest opposition party, Kiriakos Mitotakis. He said after the meeting: We will not separate citizens in Greece from joining Skopje”. He later accused the Greek prime minister of unfulfilled against profits. Warning to the process had other leaders, whether it is necessary to change Macedonia's Constitution, while criticisms went so far that Prime Minister Cipras had to hold consultations earlier. But while the criticism of the opposition to some extent is understandable, problematic is the position of the ruling ANEL party.
It is expected that this party will be promoted tomorrow on this issue, but its members already stated they will not vote on the name involving the term “Macedonia”. Such an attitude is contrary to the attitude of their colleagues from Syria, while it is also out of the framework that mediator Matthew Nimic proposes.
