INTERPOL is running the list of 50 militants in SIS believed to have recently gone to Italy by ship and may be trying to move to other European countries
The list received by The Guardian was drafted by the Secretary General of the International Police Organisation. It was sent to the interior ministry of Italy on November 29th, which distributed it to all anti-terrorism agencies in Europe.
The suspects are all Sunnisans, some identified by authorities when they landed in Italy. The document shows their names, surnames and dates of birth.
Some 5,500 Tunisians are thought to have gone to I territories SIS in Syria and Iraq to fight with the terrorist group, more than from any other country. Now, after the collapse of “califate”, they can aim to attack in Europe.
Four of ISIS soldiers on the INTERPOL list are known for European intelligence agencies. One of them may have crossed the Italian-French border to reach Gard, a department in southern France.
