Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has continued with meetings of ambassadors of EU member states accredited in Pristina, which he announced to the Kosovo Government agenda in 2018 on some of the main topics.
In meetings with Greece's ambassadors, Constantina Athanassiadou, that of Bulgaria, Nedialtcho Dimitrov Dantchev, Finland's Anne Huhtamäki of Belgium, Jean-Louis SERVAIS, Holland, Gerrie Willems and Czechia's Ivo Shilhav Rancho, Deputy Prime Minister Hoxhaj has asked them for support for a more balanced approach to Kosovo in the new European Union enlargement strategy for the Western Balkans 2025.
Hoxhaj has expressed his concern that in the latest versions of this document, which is expected to be published soon, which does not have a clear language for Kosovo following the implementation of the SAA and ERA in contrast with other countries that have a timeline.
Likewise, he has demanded that after the end of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, the two countries should be rewarded equally and there will be no differences.
While it is clear to Serbia what happens in what year and how it moves into the European agenda, the same should be for Kosovo.
I also stressed the good news that at last, the EU will come up with a clear strategy of expansion with Western Balkan countries by 2025. This is good news, however, I expressed to the Government of Kosovo concerns about some aspects of it. I asked that there be a balanced approach for all countries and that during the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, both countries be rewarded equally. Just as there is a timeline for Serbia in the European agenda, there should be for Kosovo. So there should also be a deadline for meeting the European agenda for Kosovo” has said Hoxhaj.
