Haziri: Rugova saved us from the great massacre

Under the auspices of the mayor of Gjilan municipality, Lutfi Haziri, a memorial academy in Gjilan today has been held on the note of the 12th anniversary of the president's life apart from Ibrahim Rugova, where the Rugova family has also attended the institutions' representatives.

Speaking to his figure, Mayor Haziri has mentioned three steps, which, according to him, makes the age history of Albanians in the Balkans.

And in these 12 years, Gigliani has been separated physically from the spiritual leader, the founder of our state, Ibrahim Rugova. He built solidarity, friendship, and managed to convince all partners that an old divided people and dominated by wild regimes need friends. For nine years of Ibrahim Rugova, 100-year-old aspirates have been achieved. For these years, he managed to instruct all Albanians in political direction, by hiring and uniting all of us indiscriminately, and by listing us west”, Haziri said.

His second step was to protect the citizens, to protect the family, not allowing political adventurers to bring Kosovo into the wars and conflicts of the former Yugoslavia, which at that time were in an organized manner. We need to say thank you today to save us from that great collective massacre that was originally prepared in the 1990s”, Haziri added.

“Preparing us at the last step, President Rugova made an international mobilization and decided to break the international standard with his silence. That silence of him patiently and with work caused the great citizens to find formal and informal ways to intervene in Kosovo to disperse us from the planned massacre, which was at our door. He knew that peaceful politics would lead to the end with the greatest vision, and he knew that even the war would manage as the last tool of politics, not allowing the liberation uprising to turn into a brother-in-law. These three small steps make the age history of Albanians in the Balkans”, he has said.

Renowned Kosovo writer Ibrahim Kadriu has indicated that President Rugova's name more and more will be raised to pedestal, taking into account the vision of pro-Western orientation of Albanians, meanwhile, Professor Anton Nike Berisha, speaking about the research creativity, said the turn he made in science studies was extraordinary for the time.

He viewed literature as something special, not as the theme, and here was the” curve, Berisha said.

The writer, Sabit Rrustemi, who has praised President Rugova's figure on both the literary and political plains, has spoken at this academy.

Finally, the city's female choir has also been presented with several points specially prepared for the academy, under the leadership of conductor Florentina Rushiti-Bajram.
