Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has indicated that they are working and are seriously handling the promise KEK workers made, that since January they will receive the salary of 100 euros more.
Haradinaj during a visit to KEK, has said today that they have drawn close, but that he has not confirmed or denied, whether KEK workers will receive the January salary by increasing.
We've been very close, we've discussed the subject too, so find a solution to that too. Let's see, I'm not saying yes or no, but we're working to deal with this subject seriously. It could also happen to arrive at”, he said.
While the chairman of the new KEK Trade Union, Rafet Osmani told KosovaPress that he strongly believes the prime minister will keep the pledge and that all KEK workers will receive the January salary by 100 euros more.
“I very much hope that it will happen with the January pay, that you were told we should prepare to pledge, that the promise we gave the workers, that it is an additional motivation for workers working at the Kosovo Energy Corporation. And it's a mutual promise, because now this dynamic job what is provided by management because they have lost their step in production, it's a problem to deal with workers in production. However, if wage increases occur, as the prime minister has said, then the workers will also be motivated and certainly by March they will take the step, or production which has been lost due to excavors' halt in the sweat will catch it and have normal work from March to around”, he said.
He even said that even during the meeting, the prime minister has said they should prepare for the promise they have given the workers to keep.
Another “during Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's visit to this meeting with the KEK management has also talked about promises to raise the salaries of Kosovo Energy Corporation employees, which have been promised the new KEK union since 2 June last year. The prime minister also pledged in conversation with the management that he must do his best to reach the promise that we have given KEK workers, that it is an additional motive for work. Even knowing that KEK workers' work is very heavy, they are exposed to weather conditions, then to poisonous gases, dust, noise, shake and permanent risk from the equipment working there”, he said.
Osmani said that if this promise of increasing KEK workers' pay is not realised, they will protest, as well as have not ruled out the possibility of entering the strike.
