German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel voiced concern to Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavushoglu about the escalation of the situation in northern Syria following the start of the Turkish forces' attack, stressing possible humanitarian consequences for the local population.
“Gabriel has expressed his concern over the escalation of the situation in northern Syria and the possible humanitarian impact on the civilian population”, said the German Foreign Ministry's announcement.
