The head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Natalia Apostolova, said they have put constant pressure on institutions related to environmental pollution phenomenon.
I just hope that there will be great commitment from the Government, but look, we have many priorities, which are distributed in many sectors, so I think the Government should have a very serious approach to all issues in the interest of the people of Kosovo. So this has always been my message, for example, to air pollution, air quality, water and junk address”, Apostolova told A tolova in Kosovo.
It has also offered EU assistance with projects dealing with environmental protection.
“We are ready to assist with whatever aid we can offer, but just as you can imagine we cannot replace our efforts with those of municipalities or governments. But, I think our role, and what I'm going to say is of great importance, we're raising our voice, because internationals gather together, formulate a petition, and make it clear to government persons and parliament, that we're monitoring you, and you have to be held responsible for the health and welfare of your citizens... it's something very important”, she said.
