The Business Community, which is legitimately represented by the Kosovo Economic Oda, with deep concern, is conveying the latest political developments in the country, which relate to efforts to change legal and institutional access in relation to the Special Court, as well as the speculation and playing of words continuing in relation to the border demarcation with Montenegro.
<x) Unfortunately, this is not happening yet, and for more, the economic situation tends to deteriorate, as a result of our country's growing isolation”, it says in a statement.
Political and economic isolation, especially as far as declaring independence, has left major consequences for the trend of economic growth in the country, making it impossible to keep pace with neighboring countries, especially in the process of European integration. Youth, young scientists and businesses, which are the main pillars of our society's present and future development, have largely suffered from the unfair isolation of our country, which is ultimately contributing to our country's political class.
Any attempt to change in terms of Special Court and any attempt to return demarcation to zero point is a direct blow to the country's economic development, to irreparable harm and direct impacts on foreign investments and exports. For more, it will be sufficient signal for the departure of existing companies operating in Kosovo in neighbouring countries and the escape of the qualified workforce in countries that provide very good opportunities for their professional development. It also jeopardises the realisation of the largest investment project and economic hopeful, the Kosova e Re thermal power plant. Also, 2020 is crucial for gaining EU membership candidate status, which would be the culmination of the formation of our state. If we continue with the self-insulting approach of the past few months, the damage will be carried by decades of”, said the communique.
