Trump's mental abilities are questioned in the book “Fire and Fury...” by journalist Michael Wolff, published Friday.
Trump in this book is described as an ignorant man and Wolff has stressed that people surrounding the American president doubt his ability to lead the state.
But Pompeo told US television Fox News that such claims are ridiculous because Trump is capable of leading the American army.
The CIA chief said such a question is posed by people who reject the fact that Trump is president of the United States.
