On the 550th anniversary of Gjergj Kastriot's death, Skenderbeu, the Kosovo Museum and the Museum of Illinois from Switzerland hosted tonight an exhibition of books, stamps and bank notes from the Middle Ages until the 1930s.
Ilir Xhedeeni, collector and archaeologist, said that at this exhibition, he has brought several artifacts from the Middle Ages to the 1930s, which concern Albanian seniorship Gjergji Kastriot-Skenderbeu.
I've been finding artifacts for 20 years since our history, since Iliria, Byzantium, and I've been out in the 1930s, and today I have a collection that we've started to open a museum in Switzerland that will be called the Ilirikum Museum, and this is an initiative that we've brought in some things here to have the support of the Kosovo Museum”, he said.
Xhedini said all his work has been done with full passion and that the artifacts presented at this exhibition will return to Switzerland, rap reports.
There's a divorce from 1590 from Canada. One book comes from Paris, which was owned by an Austrian prince, another is from Italy, from Milan, is an Albanian book dating from 1907, is a gift from a friend of mine who was owned by his home library. He gave me a gift and he's written more differently than the scripture we know, because it's written before the formation of the” alphabet, he said.
The director of the Kosovo Museum, Skender Bostrakaj, said this is the joint exhibition with collector Geeladin, who has many materials and invests much to collect facts and documents for the history of Albanians and Illyrians.
I've seen a great deal of importance to present a collection of ours and an idea for the Ilirikum Museum, and that's to be a reminder of our national hero in the 550th anniversary of death, with some stamps and additional information as an important calendar since the birth of the hero and beyond which Jahja Dranqolli has contributed with a map presenting the monuments that present our national heroes and graphics that is a heavy lady shooting flowers at the commemoration of Skenderbe and another graph that is the beauty of the Albanian, where some Albanians look at the hero, whom they convey to their own religions and prayers in the world, the Boskat.
Otherwise, the organised International Year of Skenderbeu's activities, under the auspices of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, started on January 15th in the Kosovo National Library “Pjetre Bogdani” in Pristina with George”'s Grand Literary Clock, where other artists, writers and personalities from the field of culture participated.
The Kosovo government at the meeting of January 12th 2018 formed the inter-ministerial commission for marking the 550th anniversary of the death of National Hero Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu. The commission is mandated to make all preparations, as well as the agenda of this jubilee note.
