With Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj's proposal, the Council of Ministers approved the release from duty of the State Police Director General, Grand Director Haki Chako.
Minister Xhafaj, assessing Mr. Chako's contribution, commitment and dedication to the State Police in recent years. He has a long career in the police and has professionally directed structures of various levels.
According to the Interior Ministry's official announcement, Minister Xhafaj held a meeting during which he was thanked by the Grand Director Chacon for the work and co-operation thus far in fulfilling the State Police Mission.
However, realising the objectives of this governing mandate, in the field of order and public security, challenges hosting the State Police, require a faster pace and big dynamic work. For this reason a new leadership is necessary, with new energies to motivate and advance the work of the State Police. The job of the latter should necessarily be oriented towards concrete results in order to respond, thus better the demands of this new phase and the high expectations of the public and international partners towards the State Police.
