The event took place at midnight Wednesday, while 3 Albanians, 2 of whom were arrested for drug cases and one accused of killing cut off the irons of the cell and dropped from a height of 7m.
For Albanians, only the initials M.F., Mr.A. and B.K. are provided.
They also tried to escape a Georgian who was arrested at the last moment by the guards.
According to the first information from Greek media, the prisoners cut off the irons of their cells on the second floor of the prison and used sheets to exit.
Still not known how prisoners managed to break through window bars. The three Albanian fugitives have been convicted of murder and drug trafficking.
So far only one of the Albanians has been put in handcuffs.
He is a 35-year-old arrested for drug issues, but his identity is not given.
