The United Nations has estimated that it will take about $200 million to help Muslim refugees, Roingya, who have fled Myanmar to Bangladesh.
Bangladesh and humanitarian organizations have been trying to help 422 thousand Roingyas who have arrived in Bangladesh since the Ringya militants were offensive in Myanmar.
Bangladesh was already sheltering some 400 thousand Roingya who had fled from violence and persecution in Myanmar in majority Buddhists.
The United Nations has been calling for $78 million financial assistance, but the number of refugees in this country is continuing to increase.
For now, we're looking at $200 million” said Robert Watkins, co-ordinator of the United Nations in Bangladesh.
Myanmar has repeatedly dismissed charges of ethnic cleansing against the Muslim minority Ringya.
