Kurds in Iraq are preparing for a referendum on their independence, but this is strongly rejected by Iraqi lawmakers, Russia Today” reported, broadcast Periscopi.
Israel has maintained secret military, intelligence and business ties with Kurds since the 1960s, seeing the ethnic minority group whose population is divided between Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran as an armotizer against common Arab opponents.
Israel “supports the legitimate efforts of the Kurdish people to form their state”, Netanyah said. Netanyahu said Israel, however, considers Turkey-based Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) a terrorist group, taking the same position as Turkey, the US and the EU./Periscopi/
