Here's how many millions of euros it takes for veterans

Those for the past month have received only 50 euros, since the incumbent Government has not had means to pay them off since budget review cannot be made by incumbent institutions.

In an interview for Kosovo, incumbent Finance Minister Agim Krasniqi says the veterans' case is currently frozen, as there are no means for them and that the new government has this obligation.

It also explains the entire budget situation for war veterans' pensions.

The divided budget for veterans for 2017 has been 38m euros, and payments have been made in order except last month, because the number of veterans has now reached over 33 thousand and 178. There was a joint decision we made at the Prime Minister's Office together with the Labour Ministry, and the Associations have been allocated 1.7m euros as long as it was linear to all veterans, and that's where the budget is divided. To meet other needs this year also due to the timely failure of the Commission for Rescriptification is also needed somewhere around 2728m euros. These tools are not for veterans right now. He says the Commission should be formed and set up lists so that veterans will not be left without their pensions because they are not guilty of the situation.

In this regard Krasniqi hopes that a consensus will be found with the International Monetary Fund and that the new government should review the laws mentioned above to classify lists, or otherwise have to find funds for veterans.

I believe that in any option, what the decision on the veterans' case may be found. But it's good to complete this process for reasons that this process will have impact not only this year but also next year... If we want to be within objectives with the IMF with the programmes we've harmonised with them, it must quickly take to do these two actions so that at least in the 2018 budget it would be a stable budget including veterans. No choice. Even the IMF has to understand. But if no reclassification occurs, the Government remains to meet the requirements that are legal. Despite the fact that we are now saying obligations with the IMF that I believe in will also be found a consensus”, Krasniqi said.

Otherwise, at one of the Government's office meetings, it has been discussed as to a lack of budget for veterans and that the incumbent prime minister has said this issue must be resolved soon so that veterans will not be left without their salaries.
