Turkish citizens can come safely to Germany, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said today, rejecting Ankara's warning that Turkish citizens should be cautious when travelling to Germany because, as she has said, a growing anti-Turkey sentiment there.
Tensions between Berlin and Ankara have increased in recent months, while Turkey's warning this Saturday came after Germany's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that Germans travelling to Turkey risk being arbitrarily detained even in tourist areas, the Express broadcasts.
“
No journalist is arrested here and no journalist is taken into custody. Freedom of thought and rule of law prevail here, and that's why we're proud of”, Merkel said.
