During an interview last night on the television network CBS, Mrs. Clinton said her career “as an active politician has completed”.
“I'm no longer going to be a candidate”, Clinton said and added that “but I'm not done with politics because I strongly believe that we are dealing with the future of our country”.
Hillary Clinton suffered defeat against Republican candidate Donald Trump in the 2016 elections, despite being considered a favourite for triumph.
It has indicated that “loss is still very painful, and the pain is over”.
In recent days, Mrs. Clinton is appearing in various interviews for the promotion of her book, What Stepened (“What happened”).
In this book she has claimed responsibility for losing to Trump, but, besides, she blames Russian intervention in the American election campaign.
Hillary Clinton, 69, was an American secretary of state during the presidency of Barack Obama, and for eight years she was a senator in New York State.
Her husband, Bill Clinton, was president of the United States on two terms.
