Clear US: Kosovo Army can only be formed that way

Minister Berisha thanked Ambassador Delaway for the continued co-operation and assistance the US have given to the ministry and KSF, stressing that he will work to deepen this co-operation even more during his mandate.

He also spoke of the importance of the KSF transformation process in the FAK and the challenges awaiting this process, stressing that it will convey the clear and open message to the Serb community and other communities, that the FAK will not be oriented against anyone, but will be in the interest of all Kosovo citizens.

For his part, US Ambassador Greg Delawi expressed willingness to continue co-operation in the future, stressing that the US Embassy welcomes readiness to continue this co-operation to enhance and strengthen KSF's capacity.

“We support the transformation of the KSF into FAK based on constitutional changes, and we appreciate that this process should be comprehensive for all communities and contribute to regional stability”, Delawi said.

The meeting with the US ambassador was the first meeting of Minister Berisha in the new post.
