The Eurokomisar for neighbourly policy and enlargement Johannes Hahn today will stay for a day's working visit to Belgrade, where there will be meetings with the highest representatives of Serbian authorities.
It is for Han to meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, Prime Minister Ana Brnabiq, diplomacy chief Ivica Dacic and European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic.
On the eve of the visit to Belgrade, Hahn said that Serbia has a strong European perspective, which has not been questioned, but that the speed of developing incriminating negotiations will depend on the pace of reform implementation, primarily in the sphere of rule of law, as well as the normalisation of relations with Kosovo.
In a statement to the Belgrade newspaper “Vecernje novosti”, Hahn praised that Vuciki's initiative for starting internal dialogue for Kosovo represents “bold and welcome” movement.
He once again argued that the important part of Belgrade's EU membership negotiations is also the comprehensive normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, which, according to him, will contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the region and will ensure protection of the rights of all citizens.
