Haradinaj appoints adviser one suspect in connection with crime

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is completing his cabinet. On Tuesday, Gazmend Syla has been named adviser to war veterans' issues. But Syla in many investigative files is suspected as a man linked to the most dangerous groups of killers in Kosovo. He was part of the case of businessman Azem Morina's kidnapping, along with Bedri Krasniqi and Haradinaj's two bodyguards. Syla had numerous ties to the group of killers of the two police officers in 2004. In Haradinaj's cabinet, the questions of Insider have been named “inventive and false”.

Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has appointed an adviser for a suspect in connection with many criminals.

Four days after the prime minister has been elected, Haradinaj has appointed adviser to veterans' issues, Gazmend Syla, one of the people charged with involvement in the kidnapping of businessman Azem Morina from Klana's Glareva.

The Bedri Krasniqi-led group, except Gazmed Syla, had two other bodyguards of Ramush Haradinaj Him Krasniqi and Selman Gashi, already sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.

Syllas as participants in this group were charged with organised crime and kidnapping. But, in the absence of abundant evidence, he was only convicted of illegal weapons.

Meanwhile, investigative evidence pointed to numerous links to the criminal group.

Syla was under investigation for involvement in various murders in the Dukagjini region, as well as the murder of two police officers in 2004 in a village of Podujevo.

Insander owns a series of files for Syla's activities, currently Ramush Haradinaj's adviser.

The announcement that Gazmend Syla ʹ chairman of the Peja Veterans Association has become Haradinaj's adviser on veterans' issues and has provided AAK deputy Beki Berisha.

“Today at a meeting with Prime Minister Mr. Ramush Haradinaj was determined that the prime minister's chief adviser's office for war categories to represent Gazmend Syla, as well as pledged by the prime minister that veterans' pensions will not be a problem from now on”, Berisha wrote a convict for the murder of a former war neighbour.

Insander has asked for clarification from Haradinaj's cabinet for the appointment of Sylajt adviser. Haradinaj's other adviser, Avni Arifi, has described Insider's questions as disgusting and false.

Syla, who is the son of the former AAK delegation's uncle, Lahi Ibrahimaj has also been on the run from Interpol, until she was arrested along with Bedri Krasniqi (1979) from the village of Tujaca of Pejaca, Dervis Idrizajn (1984) from the village of Decan Hillal, Hamdi Krasniqiqi, Ahmet Nezirain (1978) from the village of Gllagjan of the Decani municipality of Decan, Him Krasni Krasni (1978) by Peja, Selman Grean (199 from Brocican and Ilican Lufaj from the village village of Stelca, Vac. The trial of this group was held in Dubrava Prison because of their risklessness. The court had pronounced 87.5 years in prison and fined 1,130,000 euros.

Bedri Krasniqi was sentenced to 17 years in prison and a fine of 200,000 euros.

Dervis Idrizaj, 13 years in prison and 180. $ 000 fine.

Ahmet Neziraj, in 15 years in prison and 150,000 euros in fines.

Hamdi Krasniqi was sentenced to 12 years in prison and 150,000 euros in fines.

Ilmi Lufaj, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 150,000 euros in fines.

Three million euros in tribute to Azem Morina's head

The story of the kidnapping, the hostage hold of Azem Morina, and the tax - pay arrangement were thrilling.

His son Bujar, who was in contact with the kidnappers, agreed to pay in installments for his father's life. 350 thousand euros would cost the first tranche to be paid to the kidnappers to bring out the 71-year-old father alive. The group had managed to receive only 230 thousand euros.

Half an hour after the kidnapping, Azem Morina had called her son.

Bujar's father, Azem, who runs a mostly profitable business in Kline, was kidnapped on the morning of September 21, 2009. In the wake of 39 days he had been released after the police fell on the trail of kidnappers and the payment of 230 thousand euros on Bujar's side.

Prime Minister's Adviser's Ties With Criminal Bedri Krasniqi

Syla was one of the suspects in the murder of two policemen along with Florim Ejupi and Bedri Krasniqi in 2004. He was only convicted of McCumbin Mehmet.

Kosovo police and UNMIK police were searching for suspects in the assassination. 17 people, among them Haradinaj's adviser, were suspected of the crime.

Suspects were the McCumbin Mehmeti, known by nicknames: “Doctor”, “Lapi”, “Qorri, “Rroqi “; Florim Ejupi known by nicknames: “Lul”, Maduli”, “Surka” Bajram Kicmari with nicknames:“Kulleri”, “Lami”, Faith Shaqtri, nickname “Lapoqi”; Faton Sylejmani; Arben Ahmeti, dubbed “Ashti” Edsim Rashit under the nickname -“Athletica”; Xavit Kosumi with nicknames Nezir Kelmendi “Ruga” and “Rugova”; Osman Kelmendi, Xhafer Zymberaj killed in Kumanovo; Sylejmani lives, Bedri Krasniqi; Nazmi Kadriu; Rexhep Yasar and Gazmend Sylaj.

EULEX has reopened the police murder case. Weeks ago he arrested Faik Shaqiri, Bajram Kicmarin, and Alban Diznar. The prosecution has filed charges against them, including Bedri Krasniqi.

For others, he has not been able to bring an accusation because of being declared innocent by a court of law UNMIK. The Act has to do with the murder of UNMIK police officer Possible Essuman, as well as Kosovo's Arsim Rrutoll.

Shaqiri and Kiqmar had been arrested and charged with the same case before, but had been acquitted, as were other indictees, except Shumbi Mehmet, who in 2007 was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the attack on UNMIK.

Telephone Communications

Gazmend Syla's communications with the suspect, Florim Ejupi, are also in the investigative file for the police's murder. It says Gazmed Syla has sheltered the other suspects.

The file says Gazmend understands and tells Florim that today is Friday and will come to visit.

The conversation indicates that Gazmend Syla was a driver of Nazmi Ibrahimi, from Jablanica, and Florim Ejupi has been sheltered in Jablanice in Arben Neziright's house, since the voice of the third person who says I'm a vole, says in the file.

All these conversations are about a person who is known for the group members who had come from Switzerland, unable to meet with Florim, police explains.

This proves that the group was financed from outside.

The file reportedly results in Gazmendi's inflows of Gazmend Sylajt 044/ 127-929, showing that there were frequent contacts with other members of the group, such as Faik Shaqiri, Florim Ejupi and Shumbin Mehmetin.

Murder Investigations in the Dukagjin region

Another investigation file of UNMIK in 2004, which is a summary of the investigation into the murders in the Dukagjin region, is given numerous details for Gazmend Saylan.

In the investigative part of Sadik Musaj's murder, Gazmend Syla is cited as Ramush Haradinaj's bodyguard.

It mentions that Gazmend Syla was a close friend of Avni Elezaj, murdered in 2002. It explains that another suspected criminal group was looking for him, Gazmend Sylvia.

On July 17, 2003, about 00.30, an informant/agent was at the restaurant Ice Tea. He noticed strange activity. The source has briefly met Gazmend Syla (former staff of Ramush Haradinaj) who has recently left”, writes in an investigative file that owns Insander.
The investigators suspected that this group wanted to kill Gazmendi Syline.

“We have information that Ramush Haradinaj's former staff is looking for members of Musa's group. Bedri Krasniqi, Gazmend Syla, Fadil Nikqi are very often together”, writes in the UNMIK file.

There are also details of Tahir Zemaj's murder and the attacks against him. Zemaj is also named by UNMIK as leader of a criminal group.

On January 4th 2003, around 17:30, Tahir Zemaj has been heading his Nissan 239KS400 towards the centre of Pec when he has been ambushed at the main crossroads at the entrance of Pec by two cars, and a number of shots have been conducted in his direction. Tahir Zemaj has been killed in the country along with two other passengers in the car”, the file says.

The dead had remained Enis Zemaj éjʹ, Tahiri's son and Hasan Zemaj, Vetir Zemaj's cousin and LDK member at the Decani municipal assembly.

“The only description of the suspect's cars is that one was Opel Ascona, while the other car was a black Jeep with a signboard 125 KS...”, written in the investigative file

The anti-organised crime unit writes that in the early hours of January 5, 2003, Ali Nikqi, has been arrested after being seen tracking victims for at least two hours before their death.

“A check has been made to his home, but no evidence has been found. However, a number of photographs have been found where Nikqi is seen acting as a kind of bodyguard of Ramush Haradinaj, and it is clear that NICQI is a great sympathy for the AAK.

Police detail Gazmend Syla's arrest on January 25th 2003. He had been arrested during a joint search between KFOR, Police and the Unit against accused crime. Police had stopped the Volksagen car, Golf 3, with license plates 241 KS 188.

Over the course of the search, a war crimes weapon has been confiscated with 30 bullets from Gazmend Sylaj. Inside the car there were two other people, one of whom was Fadil Hysenia. There's been an arrest warrant for it, but it's not entered the” database, it's written in the file.

However, Gazmed Syla also has family ties with Ramush Haradinaj./Insider
