David, the family's eldest son Kovac, realized in his childhood that the communist system was knowingly killing his family, economy, and future.

So he tells me today after 27 years, the reason for the arrest planned to kill Enver Hoxha on November 29, 1973. He prepared physically, exerted himself for about three years, thinking about everything - with the sole goal - the elimination of the dictator. He did not share the plan with anyone because as a persecuted family with the regime's condemned father, he was surrounded by regime informers.

He'd put dynamite in the concrete blocks where the dictatorship would stay during parades. Even a plan B. He'd try to kill himself with the dictator. But unfortunately his plan failed in the last few moments by security agents.

On February 22, 1974, David was arrested on charges of attempted Enver Hoxha's murder.

It suffered 16 years in a row, physical violence, beatings, torture in frosts and temperatures, attempted murder in mining galleries, destructions of “enemies” spies within prison, forced family denial, education and contempt of people.

Then I don't know how he convinced me, and I had a hill in front of me. I thought the area was clean. I couldn't see anyone. After walking toward the hill, I saw a poison glow and realized that it was a trap to kill me. The sun shine on my helmet saved my life for the last few times inside the” prison, he calmly confessed to me.
