Greek asylum service workers for short-term contracts have launched a two-day strike to protest what they say were delayed wages for months, Russia Today” reported, the Periscope broadcast.
Workers say they are not paid for two or three months. Those in addition to Tuesday's strike, have said they are planning to hold another protest in Athens Square starting on Thursday.
Greece's asylum service faces a major labour burden due to increased calls from refugees and immigrants over the past year.
Although the number of arrivals has dropped, last year's agreement between the EU and Turkey to limit illegal immigration has prompted the majority of refugees and migrants coming from Turkey to seek asylum in Greece./Periscopi/
