Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has said that Hashim Thaci's government has done good work functioning of the justice system.

His government has increased the salaries of judges and prosecutors. There has been a government that has been able to help the functionality of the justice system. The PDK has played an extremely important role in functioning rule and law in Kosovo. I think we have a good system in spite of all the problems that have happened”, Tahiri said on the Justice Vow show.

He has stressed that he will empower the judiciary in order to be independent, adding that the following days will present his priorities.

The “Critics from the progress report will distract me as a guide to solving problems. A new spirit will begin, the justice system will have a new beginning. Kosovo has a more functional justice system than countries in the region, we have police which is functional and not politicise, the image of police and justice in Kosovo is better than in the countries of the region”, the justice minister has said.

Tahiri believes he will empower the state prosecutor and the independence of the judiciary.

Kosovo's “Police are doing an extraordinary job with all the capacity they possess is in a constant fight against corruption and organised crime, an extremely important institution their work has yielded concrete results. We are citizens of this country and must respond to the law, no one can stand above the law. The law will be the same for all”
